Timber, Gardens, Steam & Gold

Saturday 2nd May 2020

This morning it’s your choice to visit the Gympie Woodworks Museum which provides a fascinating insight into the history of the timber industry in this area, or the Gympie Garden Expo where there’s informative talks, a popular plant clinic and market stalls offering plants, art & craft, and a myriad of garden accessories to compliment the home gardener. After lunch wander through the Gympie Gold Mining & Historical Museum, home of the annual “Gympie Steam Festival”. Marvel at the workings of the 110 year old Walkers Cornish Boiler, believed to be the only one in operation in Australia. During the afternoon there will also be blacksmith demonstrations, historic bus rides, miniature train rides and gold panning.
