About the role
Wide Bay Transit is seeking Casual School Bus Drivers to join our team in Hervey Bay, Queensland. In this casual role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school each day, ensuring their wellbeing and adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
Predominately this role is for school bus driving however, extra work may be available to the right candidate based on willingness, experience and ability.
What you’ll be doing
- Driving a school bus along designated routes to pick up and drop off students
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students on board
- Maintaining accurate record-keeping and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
- Performing routine vehicle inspections and reporting any issues
- Providing a friendly and professional service to students, school staff and members of the public
What you need:
- A current valid Australian driver’s licence (MR at a minimum)
- An Industry Authority, or be able to apply for one.
- Excellent driving skills and a proven track record of safe driving
- A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work a casual schedule, including mornings and afternoons
